January Recap

While Mother Nature blanketed St. Louis in a sheet of ice this past weekend, forcing us to cancel our January meeting, we still have many things to announce. So without further ado, here is what you should know.

  • Officer's Book/Pattern Challenge : The Officer's decided to create a challenge this year, encouraging members to start one of those intended projects; for which you bought a particular pattern and/or book to use.  Everything you need to know about this challenge can be found on our [Challenges] tab at the top of the page. Updated 1/16/17 - An entry limit has been placed.
  • Hand-Sew Happy Hours have started once again. Jessica, our guild's Secretary, recently sent out the information via email earlier today.  If you are a dues-paying member and did not receive the email, please let us know.
  • We are finalizing plans to bring in a well-known Teacher this June for a presentation and two workshops.  Once everything is confirmed, we will make the official announcement; but for now, please keep the weekend of June 3rd-4th open.
  • SewMeSTL is happening again, this year on October 14th and 15th at the Drury. An email will be sent soon to all dues-paying members regarding this event.
  • This year we have several panels, demos and other educational opportunities planned for our meetings including the below:
    • Preparing your quilt for a Long-Arm Quilter (Panel Discussion)
    • Curating fabric bundles (Presenter)
    • Hand-Sew Demonstration (Rotating Demos w/hands on instruction)
    • Publishing Books & Patterns (Panel Discussion)
  • We will also continue our monthly Member Trunk Shows, Member's Swap/Challenge committee activities, charitable sewing, and so much more.

We are looking forward to all that 2017 has in store,
and are glad to be sharing it with you.
