Sew Me St. Louis 2015

Sew Me St. Louis logo
On October 24th and 25th, approximately 45 of our members gathered to sew, laugh and play together.  As you can see from the photos; which were uploaded to Instagram using the #sewmestl, it was a blast.

Things started quietly; but then kicked into high gear thanks to our wonderful Workshop Teachers...Heather, Jan and Kristy.

There was of course lots of other sewing going on in the main ballroom...

And of course there were door prizes...

Saying Thank You isn't enough considering how generous the following companies were; but they all wanted to be a part of our retreat in some way and we could not be more humbled by their donations.

We encourage you to send them a shout-out on social media, drop them an email, and of course consider shopping with them during this holiday season.

There are of course others to Thank...including our Officers for ensuring things went smoothly, as well as Carolyn and Tess from our Events Committee who took the reigns and collected all of the donations, and the handful of members (you know who you are) who donated items and/or volunteered their time.

We certainly plan on doing this again next October, so stay tuned for info coming in the first quarter of 2016.

Sew-In Saturday

So what did you do this past Saturday?

25 of our STLMQG members spent nearly an entire day sewing up a storm, chatting, laughing and snacking.  I'd call that a productive Saturday.

Here's some highlights...

The Room...isn't is perfect?

The Entry "Fee" Fat Quarters

Some of the various snack stashes found around the room

What I didn't take a picture of was Cindy's super-yummy Chocolate Chip Cookies...
We are going to need the recipe for those, so Cindy if you read this, email me and I'll forward it to everyone.

Some of the Charity Quilts finished...aren't they wonderful.
Special thanks to Jamie, Cindy and Mary Claire for finishing these up.
Also, while not pictured...Juli Ann was working on some of these quilts too.
If I missed giving anyone a shout out, let us know.

Some of the our lovely STLMQG members, keep in mind this is only 1/2 the room.

We didn't want to share photos of specific projects that were being worked on because there were a handful of Habitat Challenge quilts being made and we wouldn't want to ruin the surprise.  There were also some baby quilts, a wedding quilt or two, various other gift quilts, etc.

Our final Sew-In Saturday for 2011, will take place on September 24th; which actually isn't too far off.  If you'd like to join in on the fun, make sure you check your email and this blog as sign-ups will open soon.

Thanks to everyone who attended!!!
