Guild Business:
We started the meeting with a quick welcome to all the new members and guests who joined for this meeting. Then we jumped right in:
- Tess, our Treasurer, covered our financials.
- Pam, our VP, mentioned that not much is happening in person right now.
- Lilo, our Secretary, gave a quick update on membership numbers and attendance.
- 2020 Elections, next month! While nominations were technically due October 1st, we did not get any submissions for Vice President or Secretary. We will keep nominations open until October 16th in hopes of filling these positions. A description of all positions can be found on our member drive. See the details below to submit your name for one of our open positions.
- Elections will be held during the November meeting (Nov 14th) via Zoom. Per our bylaws, you must be present to cast a vote.
- Open Positions

- To submit your name for any position, please contact Susan Muszynski, smuszynski22@gmail.com. We would love to see you step up!

- Dues: We know it's been a tough year for everyone. We know, too, that while we've been doing our best, the guild may not be filling your quilting social life in the way we all prefer, but hopefully we have been able to bring you exposure, educational opportunities, and experiences that are still meaningful. We also hope that by being as upfront as possible about the upcoming year you will stick with us and join us again in 2021!
- Still $40 for the year. (Yay!)
- Collecting now through December 31st.
- Pay via the website or mail a check to Tess. Please contact Tess directly if you intend to mail her a check so she knows it is coming. Cell: 314-440-6300

- 2021 Sew Me STL: It is with heavy heart that the board and the Sew Me committee must announce we are canceling the 2021 Sew Me event. When we considered all the major factors - the incredible amount of planning, the financial commitment, and the safety of our members and volunteers - it was clear this was the responsible decision to make. With no space for us in the fall, and an uncertainty if the current world situation will even allow it, we have decided to put our efforts into 2022. We have, however, left some space in the budget and in the 2021 fall calendar for one or two small scale sew-ins should the pandemic allow for it. Let's all keep our fingers crossed!
- 2021 Quilt Show: The quilt show is currently scheduled for July 16-18, 2021 at the Kirkwood Community Center. We have until February 2021 to make a decision without losing any of the deposit and so the committee and the board will reconvene in January of 2021 and make a final decision on that event. We apologize for the uncertainty, but feel uncomfortable canceling or committing so far out when things are changing so rapidly at this time.
A more robust version of this spreadsheet, including contact information and details of each business, is located in the member drive and is linked in the meeting recap email. If you feel we have missed anyone, we encourage you to contact us at stlmqg@gmail.com.
Thank you to everyone who's submitted blocks for our QuiltCon quilt! We were able to collect enough blocks and the committee is working hard to get the quilt pieced, quilted, and bound in time to submit photos to the QuiltCon Committee. We can't wait to see the end result.
This month's raffle was a fat quarter bundle of Carolyn Friedlander's prints in new colorways. Drool worthy!! Congratulations to our winner, Erin Chan!!
