- Our second quilt show has been scheduled for July 20-21, 2019! It will be held at the Kirkwood Community Center. More info has been added to the blog Quilt Show page, including information on the quilt show categories and registration requirements. Registration will run March 15-April 30.
- This month's Hand-Sew Happy Hour will take place on March 19 at Yucandu Art Studio in Webster Groves. More info here.
- We're welcoming two speakers to the guild for lectures and workshops this year, Heather Jones in June and Giuseppe Ribaudo (aka @giucy_giuce) in September. Lots more info will be coming soon!
- The Charity Committee announced our first long-arm quilting winner for the Project Linus project. Congrats to Linda Kocher, whose quilt top will be quilted by Annie Clark. Thank you both for participating! The committee also announced a new part of the project; they will be collecting fabric donations to make quilt kits for people who want to participate but don't have the time to put their own quilt materials together. You can find all the info here.
- For this month's activity, we enjoyed a fun workshop led by two of the wonderful craft teachers from Perennial, who taught us to make woven necklaces and travel sewing kits.
- Marie raffled off the wonky star blocks for our first Block Lotto of the year. Congrats to Erin Chan, who won a lovely stack of stars! Marie also announced the details for the second block lotto -- simple quarter square triangle blocks, which will be due in May. The details are on the blog.
- We announced that the Rainbow BOM skill for March is a plus sign (details on the blog)! Then, we raffled off a copy of Modern Plus Sign Quilts to those who brought their completed February triangle blocks to the meeting. Congrats to the winner, Kathy Bridges!
- Finally, the Member Swap and Challenge Committee announced our first swap of the year -- a pattern swap, which will take place at our April meeting. You can find the details for this super easy swap right here.
- We wrapped up the meeting with another great Show and Tell. Keep an eye on our Instagram page to see lots more pics of the meeting, show and tell, and our members' projects throughout the month.
See you in April!
